Dr. Alex J. Mapleton

Alexander J. Mapleton is a Health Gerontologist and Physical Therapist, now retired.He graduated from St. Thomas College, Pala, Kerala. His professional education in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation was from Seth G S Medical College & K E M Hospital School of Physiotherapy and All India Institute of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Mumbai, India.   He continued his graduate studies at the University of Detroit (Physical Therapy Education) and at the University of Michigan School of
Public Health (Health Gerontology).
Dr. Mapleton’s affiliations at reputable teaching hospitals, rehabilitation centers and other community settings were immensely beneficial. Attendance at educational workshops given by nationally and internationally well-known researchers and clinicians from around the world, have been a source of professional enrichment for him during the last fifty-five plus years.  His scientific articles have appeared in professional journals and popular publications. In the past, he has also presented scientific papers at national and international professional conferences.  It has also been his privilege to address community groups on health-related matters. He looks forward to more such involvements. Since last year, a series of articles in Malayalam under the title “Health and Happiness” (Aarogyavum Aanandavum) is being
published by an established popular fortnightly from Kottayam, Kerala.  His clinical experience over the last six decades, both in America and India, have allowed him to treat thousands of people (from multiple cultural backgrounds) suffering from muscle, bone & joint injuries and diseases, as well as those afflicted by many preventable chronic diseases.
